Dr. Tony Alberts Named New Principal at Hassan Elementary School
ISD 728 is pleased to announce that Dr. Tony Alberts has been selected, pending school board approval, as the next principal of Hassan Elementary School.
Dr. Alberts currently serves as the principal of Cedar Creek Elementary School in St. Francis Area Schools, a position he has held since the 2022-23 school year. Prior to this role, he gained valuable administrative experience serving as a middle school assistant principal.
"We look forward to the positive impact he will bring to the Hassan Elementary School community and ISD 728 through his history of collaboration and support for both students and families. We also see Dr. Alberts as a great leader for our award-winning staff at Hassan Elementary," said Dr. Andy Almos, Superintendent of ISD 728.
Throughout his 17-year career in education, Dr. Alberts has worked in a variety of teaching and leadership roles, supporting both at-risk students and advanced learners. These diverse experiences have shaped his student-centered leadership philosophy, which emphasizes the importance of building meaningful relationships, setting high expectations, and fostering inclusive school cultures.
In his current role at Cedar Creek Elementary, Dr. Alberts has led his school to meaningful growth in academic achievement, a reduction in student behavior incidents, and a significant increase in staff satisfaction. These improvements reflect his strengths in collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and rigorous academic environment.
